Job Summary

With the expansion in the organizations operations, there is need to strengthen the fleet and logistics system by the introduction of the Senior Fleet and Logistics Officer role. This position is to provide support in the Fleet and Logistics unit, by carryout out in-depth reconciliation of vehicle usage, fleet data analysis, support in the management of vehicle lease and driver outsource arrangements. The role is also to contribute in ensuring goods are distributed using the most cost-efficient method.

Key Responsibilities

This position exists to provide support in the fleet and logistics function. The Senior Fleet and Logistics Officer will be responsible for:

  1. Regular housekeeping to ensure that essential data dependencies are maintained (fleet assets Masterfile, people profiles, recipients for alert notifications, driver magnetic ID tag allocations) etc
  2. Daily Vehicle Tracking and Management of fleet
  3. Monthly Fleet data Drilling down of all vehicle in fleet
  4. Daily review of fuel consumed via MY TOTAL PLATFORM
  5. Quarterly Fleet assessment
  6. Support in managing the distribution of commodities, consumables and other goods from one point to another
  7. Maintaining, updating and sharing dispatch tracker
  8. Track Generator Diesel Consumption
  9. Monthly reporting on Vehicles under lease arrangement
  10. Support in the management of drivers under outsource arrangement
  11. Follow-up on vehicle repairs and maintenance
  12. Use Organizations approved software as a primary tool for managing fleet; and reduce duplication of effort

 

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  1. Previous work experience required:

Essential: Considerable (4 - 6 years) full-time professional-level experience involving the Fleet and Logistics management. The use of Vehicle tracking and fleet management system.

Desirable: Knowledge and experience in a health/medical or INGO organizations; experience in working in donor funded programmes.

  1. Technical knowledge or skills

Essential: The use of Vehicle tracking system and fleet management system, knowledge of ERP packages (Tally) will be an advantage, MS Office programs and professional certification in view.

  1. Organizational skills

The Senior Fleet and Logistics Officer should have the following skill sets: communication, active listening and learning, coordination, judgment and decision making, organization, time management, writing, service orientation, negotiation, and mathematics

Qualifications

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING

  1. Essential: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics management, Procurement & Stores Management, Commerce, or Business Administration.
  2. Essential: Fluency in English (Written, Spoken and Reading)
  3. A professional Qualification in Procurement and Supply Chain Management will be an advantage
