Key Responsibilities:

  • Review payment request documents for accuracy, ensuring compliance with donor and organisation’s policies & procedures and cost centre matrix is properly followed.
  • Monitor & update payment & expenditure trackers while ensuring proper transaction filing system is maintained for all financial activities at the support office.
  • Timely preparation of payment vouchers as at when payment is due and actual upload of payments to the banking platform for approval.
  • Accurate posting of financial transactions into SUN system.
  • Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations of selected support office bank accounts that agrees with the bank statement for proper sign off and filing.
  • Assists with statutory payroll remittances such as Pension, Pay As You Earn, National Housing Fund, Withholding Taxes e.t.c and ensure collection of payment receipts and credit notes.
  • Management and reconciliation of withholding tax control accounts.
  • Monitor Staff Accounts and track retirements on regular basis to ensure all advances taken are retired timely.
  • Advice FD through the FM in upgradation of financial procedures and policies as and when required and on a timely basis.
  • Coordinate closely with the procurement team to rectify all outstanding payments and creditors’ accounts.
  • Assist in the departmental monthly expenditure review.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual business plan and forecast.
  • Any other duties as may be requested by the Finance Manager or any other Senior Management Team members.
  • The JD’s can be adjusted according to need of the department and organization as per changes in departmental structure.

Qualifications

Qualifications, Skills and Experience 

  • A degree in Accounting with minimum of 2nd class Upper division or its equivalent, and a recognised professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, could be an added advantage.
  • 1-3 years’ post NYSC experience in a similar role with an NGO/INGO
  • Working knowledge of different donors USAID, DFID, UNFPA, BILL and MELINDA GATES etc.
  • Ability to use SUN Accounting package could be an added advantage.
  • Advance excel skills preferred.
  • Ability to multitask, manage a workload and produce high quality report.
  • Good team player and flexible while working with other colleagues.
