Overall Responsibility

The Director of Integrated Marketing & Communications (DIMC) will provide strategic leadership to drive MSION’s customers’ and potential clients’ growth and usage of MSION services via digital marketing and new social media channels while maintaining a strong and competitive on-line presence for MSION’s operational environments. The DIM will oversee MSION social marketing drives, all demand creation and community-based mobilization activities, effective and efficient operations of the contact centre and centres’ operations, and the overall marketing activities of MSION across all the service delivery channels. S/He will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, coordinating the overall marketing activities of all channels and sales activities of the social marketing channel and ensure its profitability.

The Director of Integrated Marketing & Communications will have supervisory responsibilities over MSION New Media Demand Creation Coordinator (NMDCC), MSION Digital/Marketing Manager, MSION Senior Social Marketing Advisor, MSION MSION Contact Centre Coordinator (?), and MSION Community-Based Mobilisation Manager ensuring their collective sales, demand creation and marketing activities contribute significantly to MSION customers’ growth and uptake of services.                                                                                                                  

The Director of Integrated Marketing & Communications will be responsible for increased sales of MSION social marketing, family planning and reproductive health products as well as effective utilization of contact centre as a hub for the organisation’s social marketing and demand creation activities.

The Director of Integrated Marketing & Communications will ensure the optimization of MSION’s customers’ growth funnel and pipelines, lead in developing strategies for reaching new customers and potential clients.

The Director of Integrated Marketing will create media and new social media platforms that will ensure MSION’s organizational visibility and core messaging alignments and facilitate the the use of key performance indicators (KPIs) measurement of digital marketing campaigns and marketing activities against set goals                                                                                                                                                          

 Key Responsibilities:

Integrated Marketing Team Leadership

  • Lead MSION’s Demand Creation, Community-Based Mobilisation, New Media Demand Creation, Digital and Social Marketing Activities in including functional and effective day-to-day operations and management of the Contact Centre and Centres.
  • Lead in the increased sales of MSION social marketing, family planning and reproductive health products.
  • Lead the sales and distribution teams under the social marketing channel to surplus generating entity with expanded assess nationwide.
  • Recruit, lead and inspire the integrated marketing team (direct and indirect reports) to deliver excellent service, including coaching and supporting them on development areas and undertaking regular performance reviews.
  • Provide visibility for MSION and the messaging of its core values and services.

Sales and Marketing of Pharmaceutical/FP/SRH Products

  • Develop a clear and effective sales and marketing strategy for the Social Marketing Channel.
  • Revaluate  current social marketing products and distribution channel and decide on range of SRHR products that will generate surplus through an effective market research and in-line with core value of MSION and its strategic direction

Integrated Marketing Strategy/Plan and it Implementation

  • Develop and Implement annual marketing plan
  • Develop annual marketing plans and ensure the effective delivery of each marketing plan for all MSION service delivery channels (Center, Outreach, social franchise, social Marketing and MS- Ladies) activities and a clear action plan for each channel. Coordinate with the programmes, Operations and RME departments to ensure that activities are in line with funders expectations, informed by evidence and field-based promotions are planned to support product/marketing plans
  • Assess and identify the needs in the areas of information, education and communication within the framework of National IEC strategy and arrange advertising and promotion tasks through media or other appropriate means.

Coordinate Targeted Marketing Promotions, Campaigns and Advertising

  • Oversee and co-ordinate and lead target marketing promotion campaigns (including the planning of advertising, media, population segment and clinic based promotions) impact assessment, competitive analysis, consumer behaviour analysis and new product development.
  • Work with advertising firms, professional groups and stakeholders and vendors to develop and finalize all advertising and communication campaigns and materials.

Coordination with MSION’s Programme and Operations Department

  • Facilitate effective coordination and synergy in the implementation of activities of the integrated marketing department and programme and operations’ department for overall effective MSION country programmes.
  • Ensure that the integrated marketing team along with the MSION channel leads deliver excellent services that are reported and promoted via effective use of on-line digital and new social media channels.

Qualifications

 Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • BA or MA degree in Mass Communication or Communication Art or in Related Social Sciences Fields
  • Extensive hands-on experience in Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) or Information, Education and Communication, Social Marketing, Community Mobilization, Demand Creation, Communications and On-Line Digital Knowledge required for the position.
  • Senior level experience (not less than 5 years) in SBCC, Communications, Sales, Marketing/Marketing Communications preferably.
  • Experience/Knowledge of Pharmaceutical Sales and Social Marketing will be an added advantage but not necessary/mandatory.
  • Demonstrable experience within Information, Education and communication (IEC) or Social and Behavioural Change and communication (SBCC) programs in the health sector is required.
  • Good knowledge and experience on social and digital marketing or commercial marketing will also be an added advantage.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams (with set targets) needed.
  • Proven ability to develop and work within approved work plans desirable.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage projects and communication or social marketing campaigns will offer an advantage.
  • Strong oral and written communication.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem solving/analytical skills.
  • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages.
  • Willingness to travel 50% within the country.
