About this Role

The post is part of the programmes/operations team, delivering high impact result across project states.  It plays a key role in creating demand for MSION’s services raising awareness of the types of services available, disseminating information about the services and their importance and stimulating interest in clients to use them.  Using a range of techniques, they reach different segments of the market (adolescents, married, unmarried, younger, older, men, women) and inform MSION’s delivery teams of the specific needs of these groups so that services can be amended accordingly.  MSION Mobilisation Officer work with Social Franchise outlets, MSION’s clinic and Outreach teams. They also link with the MSION sales teams.

Key duties in relation to the responsibilities:

  1. Community mapping, Analysis and identification of key targets for MSION services from the population
  2. Conduct mobilisation activities with target groups that will result in them using MSION services (O/R, SF, SM, clinic)
  3. Ensure that all channel/cost center targets are achieved
  4. Identify, train and and supervise a team of community volunteers to support and sustain mobilisation in communities
  5. Report on activities conducted showing impact /results while highlighting challenges, solutions and recommendations on service improvement
  6. Data reporting

1.     Community mapping and identification of key targets for MSION services from the population

·              Identify key influencers, partners and antagonists

·                Develop database of contacts. This will include local leaders (Govt, non-government, religious, community etc)

·              Develop plan on whom to target when, why and how

·              Establish and maintain relationships with all key stakeholders, the media and other partners that can impact our work

1.            Active and growing database/directory  with contacts and information  of key stakeholders at community, LGA and State

 

2.             Annual workplan/schedule of activities/locations

 

3.            Community acceptance and support for MSION interventions

 

4.            CYP achieved

 

5.            PAC

 

6.            Income (for income generating channels)

8.            Monthly activity report submitted to RM/M&SC at support office

2.     Conduct mobilisation activities with target groups that will result in them using MSION services (O/R, SF, SM, clinic)

·              Monthly activity plans developed and shared

·              Meeting and collaboration with key government stakeholders at local and state levels – Reproductive health coordinators, officers in charge at PHCs, HODs for Health etc.

·              Advocacy Meetings and engagement with key groups - Stakeholder engagement, traditional and religious leaders, youth and women’s group engagement, use of town criers, door to door,

·              Brand promotion

3.     Ensure that all channel/cost center targets are achieved

4.     Identify, train and and supervise a team of community volunteers to support and sustain mobilisation in communities

·              Select, train, mentor and manage community volunteers

5.     Report on activities conducted showing impact /results while highlighting challenges, solutions and recommendations on service improvement

·              Routine monitoring and reporting of all activities and their impact

·              Documentation of case studies

·              Client satisfaction surveys

·              Meetings with service providers to report feedback

·              Recommendations to management and colleagues on adjustments needed to services

Qualifications

Knowledge/Qualifications

  • Minimum of OND/HND in any discipline
  • MO must be able to speak with authority and confidence about community attitudes and family planning. They must therefore have knowledge gained through study or equivalent professional experience on modern contraception, health services and local community organisation
  • Must be computer literate
  • Ability to communicate fluently in the local Language
  • Fluent in spoken and written English

  • Demonstrated drive and creativity to find new ways of communication and engaging with potential clients across a range of market segments with specific examples of when you have found new ways to resolve a project issue. (Essential)
